Eagle Eye Anesthesia, Inc. came about as a result of the owner and president, Ken DeCray, realizing that there was a need in the marketplace for veterinarians to have their anesthesia equipment repaired and serviced. In the 1960’s Ken had worked as a pharmaceutical representative for many years in the veterinary division of Johnson and Johnson called Pittman Moore.
As a sales rep he noticed that the company that serviced and repaired the anesthesia equipment he had sold, put veterinarians on hold for many weeks and tended to the human medical division as their priority. So, Ken decided to learn how to repair the anesthesia equipment for the veterinarians himself. He became known within his company, Pittman Moore, and throughout the veterinary community, as “the man to call” concerning veterinary anesthesia equipment.
Ken was sought after by another company to run the sales force as a regional manager covering the whole east coast of the United States.
However, Ken yearned to own his own company and ventured out with his son, Bill DeCray, by beginning to purchase and repair veterinary equipment in the southeast U.S. He called on customers that already had faith in his abilities and after a short period of time the word spread.
The business he began had tapped into a niche in the veterinary market and he possessed the knowledge and skills to make it successful!
The name, Eagle Eye Anesthesia, Inc., came about for two reasons: Ken’s love for the Philadelphia Eagles and for the fact that the definition of an eagle’s eye is the ability and tendency to observe closely or pay attention to detail. The company has been selling, servicing and repairing used veterinary equipment for over 35 years. We developed and introduced the highly successful Millennium anesthesia machine into the veterinary market 25 years ago.
Eagle Eye Anesthesia continues to service and sell all parts and equipment related to veterinary anesthesia including small animal, large animal and research equipment. We have established our reputation at leading research facilities, teaching institutions, veterinary hospitals and zoos utilizing our services. Many have purchased our Millennium anesthesia machine and continue to have our company provide yearly service for their company, or organization.
Ken's motto has been and continues to be: "Work hard, do your best, speak the truth, assume no airs, trust in God, and have no fear."
